TRACK…your money friend

Splash screen

As the month of January came to an end, Zenith Bank sent my monthly account statement to me. I stared in the document for over 45 minutes asking myself different rhetorical questions as “when did I make this withdrawal?, what did I use this money for again? So I spent this much on data alone this month?” and the questions were unending. No doubt this was spurred by the numerous debit transactions I was seeing, the credit-debit transaction was on a 1:9ratio. I couldn’t complain. It dawned on me that at this point in addition to more streams of income, I need an advisor, or at least a platform to help me track my expenses at its core. Popular is the saying “We are not as much different as we will like to think and believe we are”. Thus, no problem is particular to one man only. With this in mind, I set out to create a hypothetical platform that does not only help track expenses and compare them against income, but a whole lot more.

Track is a fin-tech app which enables its users keep tabs on the inflow and outflow of money in their designated accounts. The idea behind Track and how it works is by allowing its users link their most used account with it, set budgets for general expenses and different types of daily and weekly expenses, add a fixed amount for monthly expenses, and get notifications about income, expenses, and balance of users account.

Expenses board

Built for a wide range of users cutting across all walks of life, Track is designed to be one of the most responsive technical financial advisor for the African continent. In addition to profound financial advise it has been designed to give, Track makes sure it renders these financial advice in a less professional and more user friendly manner with the use of users everyday conversational terms, slangs, and emojis, making it not just a fin-tech application to its users, but a financial companion. For users who keep up with their monthly budgets, Track has a reward system that comes in different packages specially made to encourage users to increase their monthly income source and save more. These and some other great features set Track at the top of the bar amongst other expense management platforms

At this juncture, it becomes pertinent to note that while the vantage of technology in today’s world and Africa in particular can never be over praised, Africans fail to realize the boundaries and shortcomings of this art. Technology may never automatically give us the desire and discipline to save more, invest more, and spend less in our quest to grow our finances, it will only offer us different platforms and opportunities to TRACK our finances.

Please not that at the time of this newsletter, Track is still under construction and testing. A major aspect of this is the colour selection. We expect some changes in the colour selection so please do well to drop a comment on great colour selection we can use if you have any suggestions.
